Holi Festival - August 10
Updated: Oct 18, 2019
Inspired by the world-famous event Holi in India, the city of Montreal brings you their imagined “Festival of Colours” on August 10, 2019 from 12:00 - 23:00 EDT in Old Port, Montreal.
The best part and most memorable part of this celebration is that you will be able to throw different coloured powders on attendees for 10 consecutive hours. Starting at 2p.m., the colour throwing will commence on the top of every hour. The act of throwing these dyes historically welcomes the start of spring and the beginning of a good harvest.
Aside from the colour throwing, this event will be a time to rejoice and forget resentment for others. How it is traditionally understood in India. Holi unites the entire nation of India together, a time where people come together to celebrate, regardless of their language, culture, and beliefs.
The event will not only feature Bollywood music but a wide spectrum of artists spanning house to reggae. In case you get hungry, there will be a variety of food stalls open to buy food to your liking. Don’t forget that there are kid-friendly activities scheduled in case you want to bring your entire family. Tickets are priced at 19,95$ and include a spectacular show and a bag of coloured powder.
Be prepared to throw your colour and shine your light with the rest of the festival attendees for an unforgettable experience.
